MICHAEL KOIZUMI APWA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

Every year the Nevada Chapter’s of APWA award four scholarships to deserving students; two from Northern Nevada and two from Southern Nevada. The scholarship amounts are one for $1,000 and one for $2,000. The Southern Nevada scholarships will be awarded at the Spring Conference held in May and the Northern Nevada scholarships will be awarded at the Fall Conference held in October. In order for the Board, through the Scholarship Committee, to make the best selection of scholarship recipients, we are encouraging APWA members to nominate potential candidates.

ELIGIBILITY:
I. A Nevada resident
II. Desire to attain a Bachelors or higher degree in a course of study leading to a career in the field of public works, public administration or related private enterprise e.g. business, architecture, science, engineering, etc. and
III. Is an entering freshman or currently enrolled in college.

BASIC CRITERIA:
1. Nomination by an APWA member
2. Financial need-income, family size, etc.
3. Desire – prepare a written statement regarding career objectives
4. Achievements – awards, activities, etc.
5. Grades – grade point average and SAT/ACT test scores. Copy of transcript required
6. Consideration for attending a Nevada school (not a requirement).
